Lesson 10: Turning Ideas into Gold (Brainstorming with AI)

Some ideas begin as embers—but all they need is a little light to catch fire.

Table of Contents

✨ A Soft Start

Ideas don’t arrive fully formed.

They show up as sparks, fragments, weird little questions.

And AI?

It’s a lantern. It helps you follow the flicker.

You don’t have to know exactly what you’re building.

You just have to let yourself begin.

🌾 The Magic of Collaborative Brainstorming

Here’s what AI is really good at:

  • Helping you think out loud. It never gets bored.
  • Offering options. Need five angles, or twenty? No problem.
  • Breaking the silence. Stuck? It’ll toss you something—anything—to respond to.
  • Surprising you. Even if it’s off, it might trigger the right thought.

Try using it as a creative sparring partner, not an oracle.

Let it riff, explore, bounce ideas back at you.

You don’t need to use what it gives you.

You just need to use it to keep going.

💡 Try This

Open a chat window and start with:

“I have a vague idea for a ________, but I don’t know where to start. Can you help me explore it?”

Then follow up with prompts like:

  • “Can you list 10 directions this idea could go?”
  • “Give me 3 versions—one poetic, one silly, one practical.”
  • “What’s a weird metaphor for this concept?”
  • “What’s the opposite of this idea? What would that look like?”

You’re not mining for perfection.

You’re letting your idea breathe.

💭 Parting Thought

The idea doesn’t have to be ready.

It just has to be real enough to talk to.

Some of the most powerful things you’ll create…

begin as whispers you said out loud.
